The family-run winery Steininger is situated in the wine growing village of Langenlois in the Kamptal Valley. They cultivate 25 hectares. Lower Austria is well-known for the Grüner Veltliner and this is also the strength of the winery. Grüner Veltliner represents over 50 % of their production. Grüner Veltliner can be found in different styles, from a light summer wine to powerful and voluminous full bodied wines as well as dessertwines.

The Steininger winery is also well known for their delicious sparkling wines which are produced according to the traditional bottle fermenting method. Excellent base wines and vigilant second fermentation are the keys to obtaining great sparkling wines. All of the single vintage sparkling wines, .... the Grüner Veltliner, the Riesling, the Sauvignon Blanc or the Zweigelt, involves its own personality.

Loisium - a new wine experience like you have never seen!
Karl Steininger is one of the initiators of the Loisium - the new wine attraction of Langenlois (www.loisium.at).

The entrance building was planned by the New York Architect Steven Holl, inspired by the geometric design of the old wine cellars. During the walk through in the cellars of the Loisium, you will pass the Steininger winery. There you can experience how wine is produced with loving care from the vineyard to the bottle.

Young
A complex blend of 70% Grüner Veltliner, 20% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Muskateller.
The Grüner Veltliner adds green apple and white pepper. The citrus and grapefruit are from the Sauvignon Blanc while the Muskateller dominates the finish with a floral bouquet.

Grüner Veltliner Kabinett
This is an excellent example of typical Austrian Grüner Veltliner: a dry and fresh white wine with influences of green apples, grapefruit and lemon. All this is underlined by the spice of white pepper and ripe acidity.
 

Grüner Veltliner Steven Holl
Named after the architect who built the Loisium. A single vinyard Veltliner with Inviting fruit in the nose, exotic notes and fine ripe aroma of apples. The finish is complex and balanced with a long beautiful echo.
 

Grand Grü
Steiningers best Grüner Veltliner are harvested very late. Fermented and aged in large acacia barrels. This gives the wine a golden-yellow color. The nose shows extraordinary rich nuances of spice, peaches and pears. It is a full bodied Grüner Veltliner on the verge of its evolution.
 

Zweigelt Novemberlese
Rich red color, unmistakable bouquet of black cherries and nougat.
It is very pleasant wine to drink right now.
 

Grüner Veltliner
Yellowish-gold; bouquet of pepper; tricky and noble; perfect mousseux; aroma of Darjeeling-tea, blossoms and pepper; young and fruity freshness and enchanting grace.
 

Riesling
Bright gold; very fine mousseux; ethereal scents of apricots and ripe peaches.
